Michael specializes in all aspects
of patent protection, including domestic and foreign filing,
as well as client counseling in intellectual property matters
and related licensing and transactional support. Michael
is also experienced in patent, copyright, and trade secret
litigation matters.
Michael has represented clients in a variety of high technology
industries, including electrical and mechanical, disk drive,
and optical metrology. Michael’s present and former
clients include Nanometrics, QuickLogic, Nikon Research Corporation
of America, Fairchild, Novellus, Glide-Write, Hewlett-Packard,
National Semiconductor, AMD, LSI Logic, Etak, Purdue University,
Avant!, and Ikos (acquired by Mentor).
Michael started his legal career with Skjerven Morrill, LLP
in 1994 and was elected partner in October 2001. Prior to
that, Michael graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara
University in 1994, where he was an editor on law review.
Before law school, Michael graduated in 1991 from University
of California at Irvine with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Physics. |
