Omkar specializes in patent protection,
counseling in intellectual property matters, licensing and
transactional support, non-infringement and invalidity opinions,
as well as litigation support (e.g. taking depositions of
inventors and expert witnesses, and preparing invalidity
and non-infringement claim charts).
Omkar has represented clients in a variety of high technology
industries, including electrical, software, telecommunication
and mechanical. Omkar's present and former clients include
Calix, Komag, Oracle, Synopsys, Shoreline, AMCC, Boxer Cross
(acquired by Applied Materials), Cisco, Corel Corp, AMD,
NEC, Adaptec, National Semiconductor, Space Machine, SS8
Networks, ThinkFree, Etak, Integrated Telecom Express (ITeX),
PCTEL, CyberIQ (formerly HolonTech), nBand Communications,
Cerent (acquired by Cisco), Ishoni Networks (acquired by
Phillips Semiconductors), BrightLink Networks (formerly Corvia),
Snapfish (acquired by District Photo), 0-In (acquired by
Mentor Graphics), and Gigapixel (acquired by Nvidia)..
Omkar started his legal career at Skjerven Morrill, LLP in
1992 and made partner in Sept. 1999. Prior to that, Omkar
graduated cum laude from Georgetown University, Law Center
in 1992. While in law school, Omkar was on law review and
also worked part time in patent firms.
Before law school, Omkar worked as a systems engineer at
Communication Satellite Corporation (acquired by Lockheed
Martin) for three and half years. Prior to that, Omkar received
an M.S. in Computer Science in 1986 from Virginia Tech, and
a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. |
